Getting closer to making the entry mark

$200 away from making the entry mark to run in the ING NYC Marathon Yay! But have to keep it going. my goal is $3,800.

So far I have my "planning new animations" thing based on how many donations I can raise. But maybe it isn't enough? Any suggestions? Pretty much that's all I can think of... Animating stuff...drawing stuff. I've been practicing my sax again. Anyone know a drummer?

Ok BROOKLYNITES, do you want me to animate a pan of Brooklyn :) Yes? I hope so.

Practice

So far I've had 2 track practices with Team in Training. There are a lot of people showing up for pre-season training. I wonder how many more will join once the official season starts on June 3rd.

We haven't had to run very far yet. Just Central Park's lower loop. The hardest part is the leg strengthening exercises.

Oh yes I have to start promoting for the cause. I need to raise 1,000 before July first to secure my entry in the NYC Marathon. Here is the link: www.seechristirun.com

long walk

My pre-training begins tomorrow. I'm am hoping we will start with something easy like slow 3 miles.

Today, I walked pretty far. Well, tonight actually. I headed out thinking I was just taking a walk to Columbia and the cathedral. I just felt like going forward so I did. At some point I ended up on the rocky slabs of the Hudson River bank. I lied down for awhile and spotted the big dipper after the bright cotton-ball clouds had cleared. Looking across the water doesn't make me feel like I'm on an island. It really doesn't look so far to New Jersy. I wonder if I will ever swim it.

After awhile the water began to make rising-tide sounds with the aroma of urine. So I got out of there and headed south down the boardwalk. Do people sleep in sailboats anchored on the river? I think I passed a man and woman on the verge of public sex. Then passed some random people who enjoyed sitting in shadows watching passerbys. Eventually I ended up at the westside market on 110 because I wanted expensive cheese.

Training for NYC Mararthon

While training, I plan to animate backgrounds based on the 5 boroughs of NYC. I hope that will give would-be donation givers incentive to see me reach my funding raising goal. oh here is the site if you would like to make a donation I and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society truly appreciate it. seechristirun.com
