Yes, my fat ass PRed today. It's surprising because I've been a lazy piggy since even before Thanksgiving. All of my muscle has turned to fat, but that has to change if I'm going to PR in January's Half-Mararthon.
I got completely off my training after September's Queens half-marathon, partly do to sickness and possibly a little depression. I'm sure I've complained about how I was sick for a month, but I think I was also a little depressed from being laid off- which really should have prompted me to exercise more since scheduling workouts was no longer an issue.
Today's race started at 8, but I woke up at 5:30 to shower and have a banana, naked juice and coffee. Yeah I have to shower on cold days to warm up my muscles. After picking up my number at 89th & 5th ave. I headed up to 102nd st in central park- near the start line. While I was stretching someone said "Christi?" It was Meaghan! I didn't even know she was racing today. It's funny how we have found each other at races without calling one another. Of course Meaghan is easy to find in a crowd because she's so tall. I don't know how anyone can find me.
I'm almost thinking of racing next week's 4 mile

The 10k is saturday
I've been extremely lazy about running lately. Last week (Thanksgiving week) I feasted more than once and did not run at all. Now I have to get myself to finish sunday's race in a somewhat decent time.
Last night I went to the gym for an easy 3 mile. No pushing myself too hard. It should have taken me 35 minutes then I would do some sit ups and push ups. I ended up going for 3.5 miles with a few steep hills. I can't even call it running. I walked about half...

I signed up for a race
I just signed up for the NYRR Joe Kleinerman 10K in Central Park on Dec. 6th and the
NYRR Half-Marathon Grand Prix also in Central Park on Jan 24th.
Unfortunately I have to train for something to run on a regular basis. I also partly do it for the bagels and fruit at the finish line.
My sleep schedule has been out of whack since I haven't been working. I will now have to start a schedule for running at least. I can't remember my 6 mile (10k) PR at the moment. It was a little over an hour. So ideally I would like to come in under 60minutes. My half marathon PR is 1:35:?? which I set last January for the same CP half-m. That was my first half marathon.

I HAVE ran since september
I have not run a lot. During the whole month of October, I was sick and weak. I was laid off from work and even though I seemed pretty much ok I was still depressed.
One day I decided to ride my bike to Columbia U. which is about 10 blocks away. I almost passed out after the 3 block long hill. So out of shape My friend Sara pointed out that i was probably still sick and my body was pissed at me. Anyway next ride over was much better. Since then I decided to run 3.5 around Marcus Garvy park. Which is 4 loops. Not bad, but the following day I had felt like I ran a marathon.
I need to train for a race in Central Park. Somehow know that I'm going to be timed and will have bagels and fuit waiting for me at the finish line motivates me. I can't really spend much money although it is cheaper since i'm part of NYRR. ok perhaps I will take a very short run today...

Queens Half Marathon
I think this was taken around mile 11. There really were lots of other people around me.
This is crossing the finished line.

I ran the Queens half on Sunday. I came in at 2:41:57. I was hoping to beat my PR of 2:35:?? but I'm glad I didn't get lost this time. I really didn't train so well this summer.
