2:35:22 in the Manhattan Half Marathon

This might be the best picture of me...ever.

I didn't realize that my safety pins look like they are pinned to my nipples.

I think this the first lap around central park, so those guys are probably passing me. On my second lap no one passed me and if they did I caught up in mile 10.

YAY, I'm listing to Earth, Wind and Fire in that photo.
Now, I'm dead.
Thank you Meaghan and Tricia for being there :)

half marathon in CP on sunday

I'm running the half marathon (13.1)miles on sunday and I'm really very nervous. Lets hope my knees are good and I don't pass out. So far my longest run is 10 miles and that took me almost 2 and a half hours.
here the course map

I've been practicing lately on the treadmill (random hill setting). the good thing about central park is that each hill has a downside unlike a treadmill where you just go up and up and level.

Feeling Better

This Saturday I will be running in the NYRR Fred Lebow Classic 5 Mile.

Here's the course map

Last night's practice felt pretty good. We ran a few times around the small loop in CP and that was it. I'm starting to like running up hills more than running down. I go caught in the rain on the way home and wasn't feeling good this morning. My knees is doing better. I am a bit nervous about Saturday. I hope it will be good knee day.

After I finish my tea I'm going to try running 7 miles today. I say try because my knee might still be a little tender. That's what I would have ran this morning at practice if I didn't over sleep. Here's my excuse: My roommate forgot his keys at work and his jacket caught on fire so I had to wait up really late to buzz him in. I did try to sleep lightly but that was bad sleep.

Cynthea showed me exercises to strengthen the muscles around my knee. only I keep forgetting them. I need an exercise buddy....this is giving me an idea.

Here's a picture of my middle school track in Ark City. This is usually the place I imagine while watching the red triangle circle the distance counter on the treadmill. There are no trains at the gym:(
